Kirribilli, Sydney, NSW, Australia
Bradfield Park, at the foot of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Created at the end of the project to construct the bridge (it was a key aspect of the tender), 1931-1932. Named for the project's Chief Engineer, Dr John Bradfield.
This particular structure is a memorial noting Australia's first Naval battle (and victory), the sinking of the German light cruiser 'Emden' by Australian light cruiser 'HMAS Sydney' on the 9th Nov 1914. The memorial is actually part of HMAS Sydney's bow.
