Barangaroo, Sydney, NSW, Australia
The Maritime Services Boards former control tower overlooking Sydney Harbour. Designed 1972, following the collision of two ships in the shipping channel near Millers Point.
The MSB (now known as the Sydney Ports Corporation) moved to Port Botany in 2011, leaving this 82m tower disused.
Beyond is the construction of Barangaroo in the suburb of the same name (formerly part of Millers Point). Designed by landscape architects Peter and David Walker.
NB : The name 'Barangaroo' was chosen as Barangaroo was the wife of Bennelong, who lived nearby - on the headland where the Sydney Opera House now stands.
