Edinburgh Castle, Scotland
The Portcullis Gate. Begun by the Regent Morton following the Lang Siege of 1571–73 to replace Constable's Tower (destroyed in the siege), with the upper parts completed 1584 by William Schaw.
These were replaced 1886-1887 with a Scots Baronial tower, designed by architect Hippolyte Blanc.
