Parramatta, NSW, Australia
The Lennox Bridge over the Parramatta River. Designed by Master Mason David Lennox (the colony's first 'Superintendent of Bridges'), constructed 1836-1839.
NB : This replaced the Gaol Bridge [designed by Isaac Payten, constructed 1802-1804], which crossed the river at the same point; and was already failing. Remains of this bridge were discovered during construction of the portals in 2013/2014.
