Boot Scrapers & Carriage Blocks

Both Boot Scrapers (to scrape the mud off your boots when you're entering a building) and Carriage Blocks (sometimes 'Mounting Blocks', to help you onto a horse or in to a carriage) have both disappeared from newer buildings - neither being necessary now.

Made obsolete by sealed roads and motorised vehicles respetively.

St. Peter's Anglican Church. Noted on the original township plan of 1810, the present building was designed by Francis Clarke and opened in 1841.

There have been several additions over the years, notably the porch and portions of the rectory by Edmund Blacket.
