The Sydney suburb of Scheyville, named for politician William Schey. Home to the Scheyville Training Farm (part of the Dreadnought Scheme) 1911-1939, Scheyville Migrant Accommodation Centre 1949-1964, and the OTU ('Officer Training Unit') Scheyville from 1965 to 1973.
This particular monument is the Scheyville Training Centre War Memorial. Commemorating those who trained and served at Scheyville 1944-1945, as well as in the OTU from April 1965 through to November 1973.
Constructed 1992 and dedicated in September of that year.
