Site of the Girth Cross (aka 'Girs Cross', 'Grass Cross', 'Holyrood Abbey Cross', 'South Cross'), Canongate. This marked the western limit of the Girth of Holyrood - the greatest sanctuary in Scotland, and the last to disappear.

Constructed prior to 1573, and still present in 1767.
