    Cape Bowling Green Light. Built in 1874, and originally sited on Cape Bowling Green, QLD, Australia. In 1987 the lighthouse was replaced, and the original structure (the one pictured) was shipped to the Maritime Museum in Sydney.

    Fort Philip Signal Station. In 1825 a flagstaff was constructed on the eastern wall of the fort (which was demolished shortly afterward), in order to communicate with ships in the harbour and with Fort Denison.

    A much more comprehensive signal station was built in nearby Vaucluse in 1848, designed by Mortimer Lewis.

    The upper defenses (there were two levels) of Dawes Point Battery. Designed by Francis Greenway, constructed 1819.

    Formerly a cemetery, an observatory, a powder magazine and a castellated fort also by Greenway. In the 1870s - 1880s the defenses were relocated to the Heads surrounding Port Jackson, and Dawes Point Battery fell into disuse.
