Site of the former Kangaroo Point Ferry Docks. George Peat started a ferry service here (over to Mooney Mooney Point) in 1844. This ran up until 1887, when the railway arrived.

In 1930, ferries were again used (cracks had begun to appear on the nearby rail bridge) to cross the same section of water. These were decommissioned when the road bridge was completed, 1945.

At 200m, this - Bedlam Point over to Abbotsford - is the narrowest point of the Parramatta River below Homebush Bay; and was selected by Surveyor-General Major Thomas Mitchell as the crossing point. A small cable-driven punt operated here from 1832 to the 1860s.

Charles Street Wharf (aka 'Parramatta Ferry Wharf') on the Parramatta River. Part of the Sydney Ferries network, it's the farthest point from the CBD accessible by ferry (the nearby weir prevents further travel upstream).

Although there's been a wharf in operation near here since shortly after Parramatta was established, the present building dates to 1993 - added primarily to provide access to the RiverCat (shallow draft, low wash catamaran ferry).
