Kangaroo Point, Brooklyn (Peats Ferry)
Kangaroo Point, Brooklyn, Australia
Brooklyn's Kangaroo Point beside the magnificent Hawkesbury River. Notable is the Peats Ferry Bridge [1945], and the restaurant 'Estuary' [2012-2015].

This particular area is the site of the former Kangaroo Point Ferry Docks. George Peat started a ferry service here (over to Mooney Mooney Point) in 1844. This ran up until 1887, when the railway arrived.
In 1930, ferries were again used (cracks had begun to appear on the nearby rail bridge) to cross the same section of water. These were decommissioned when the road bridge was completed, 1945.
Now the fictitious 'Doyles Point Wharf' area, used in episodes of 'Home and Away'.
