This particular structure is the Hawkesbury River Railway Bridge, near Brooklyn. The second bridge near this site, it was opened 1 July 1946.
The original - only the masonry piers remain - was located nearby, constructed by New York's Union Bridge Company and opened 7 April 1887. When the replacement was completed (the former had begun to develop cracks), the first one was removed.
