Lithgow : Blast Furnace Park

Blast Furnace Park in Lithgow, a small town to the west of the Blue Mountains. Named in honour of William Lithgow, the first Auditor-General of New South Wales.

The park was formerly home to Australia's first commercially viable steel mill, the Lithgow Blast Furnace - established 1886. The remaining buildings are a little later than this, constructed 1906-1907.

In 1928 the entire operation was relocated to Port Kembla; the park was created in 1988.
