Balmain East : Illoura Reserve
Illoura Reserve (formerly 'Peacock Point' - named after local landholder, John Peacock), Balmain East. Commissioned in preparation for Queen Elizabeth II's 1973 visit to open the Sydney Opera House.
As with a number of Sydney's harbourside parks, it was designed by Bruce Mackenzie & Associates and makes great use of sandstone rock features as well as numerous native plants. Beautiful spot.
