old_Parramatta : Centenary Square

Parramatta's Centenary Square (later renamed 'Bicentennial Square', then once again renamed 'Centenary Square'). Named for the colony's centenary in 1888.

The Wishing Pool, dedicated to Dr James Kearney. Paid for by by E A Box (a close friend of Dr Kearney), erected August 1935 to help raise funds for Parramatta District Hospital.

Originally located near the Centennial Fountain (Centenary Square), it was partly relocated (only the plaque is original) in Mar 1975 when the adjacent road was closed.
