Haymarket : Parcels Post Office

Railway Square (originally known as 'Central Square'), occupying the area between Broadway and Lee, Pitt & George Streets. Home to the Railway Square Tram Interchange for the first half of the 20thC, now to a bus interchange.

This particular building was originally the Parcels Post Office, built on the site of the former Benevolent Asylum. Designed by Government Architect George McRae, constructed 1912-1913.

The post office operated until the 1960s, and now serves as a Medina Hotel.
