Meadowbank : Vehicular Ferry Service Remains
---
This particular structure is the remainder of a ferry service which crossed at this point. (possibly the vehicular ferry service replaced by the construction of the nearby Ryde Bridge in 1935).
Opposite this point (on the other side of the river) is Rhodes Boat Ramp, at the northern end of Blaxland Road.
Meadowbank, Sydney, NSW, Australia
The Sydney suburb of Meadowbank - about 15km west of the CBD. Originally home to the Wallumattagal - whose territory stretched from Sydney Cove to Parramatta (on the northern side of the Parramatta River), the current name stems from surgeon William Balmain's land grant in 1794 (referred to simply as the 'Meadow Bank').
