Barangaroo & Millers Point
Millers Point and Barangaroo are both inner-city, harbourside suburbs of Sydney. Millers Point is by far the older of the two, founded shortly after European settlement as 'Cockle Bay Point'. Changed in the 1820s to 'Jack, the Miller's Point' (Jack Leighton operated a mill here).
Barangaroo was originally a fishing and hunting area for the Cadigal people. After settlement it became 'Darling Harbour East' (most famous for 'The Hungry Mile'), becoming the suburb of Barangaroo in 2007.
