Dawes Point : Ives Steps

Ives Steps Wharf, next to Hickson Road (beside Pier One). Formerly known as the Waterman's Steps, this was the site from which Billy Blue ferried passengers across to what is now Blues Point.

Dawes Point, Sydney, NSW, Australia

Pier One, Hickson Road. Constructed 1910-1912 as part of the area's post-plague redevelopment work, it was used as a shipping wharf (passenger terminal) for many years.

It served in this capacity until 1963, when it was transformed for use as a cargo wharf. It was modified again in 1977 for commercial use (primarily amusements & retail), and again in 1999 when it became a hotel.
