Gladesville : Banjo Paterson Park
The suburb 'Gladesville' in Sydney's Northern Suburbs. Originally known as 'Doody’s Bays to the Europeans (convict artist John Doody was granted land here in 1795), the current name is from the estate of a later resident - John Glade. The estate was named 'Gladesville' when it was subdivided and sold in November 1855.

This particular location is Banjo Paterson Park, Punt Road. Formerly the grounds of the Barton family's 1885 'Rockend Cottage', later used for the Harold Meggitt Limited Linseed Oil Company's factory (the cottage itself was used as office space).

This particular structure is Punt Road Wharf (sometimes 'Bedlam Point Wharf', or 'Banjo Paterson Park Wharf'), Banjo Paterson Park. One of the few public wharves in the area, it's frequently used for access to the park and to Rockend Cottage.
