Darling Harbour
Formerly home to a number of heavy industries, Darling Harbour was transformed in the 1980s-1990s to the thriving commercial area you see today.
Named after Lieutenant-General Ralph Darling, Governor of New South Wales from 1825 to 1831.

Underneath the second Pyrmont Bridge (the first was a simple wooden structure, built 1858 and demolished 1902), opened 28 June 1902.
Designed by Percy Allan, who also engineered the similar Glebe Island Bridge a year later.
