Pyrmont, Sydney, NSW, Australia

Ballaarat Park, north-east corner of Darling Island. That's the correct spelling - the park was named for a ship built at the nearby dockyards in 1853 - it was the first that the Australasian Steam Navigation Company built for their own use.

The sign notes the earliest land grants in the area, and the island's long maritime history (deep waters next to the shore made it an ideal place to construct ships, and ASN operated here from 1851-1895).
