Watsons Bay
Watsons Bay, on the end of Sydney's South Head peninsula. Named after Robert Watson (1756–1819), formerly of HMS Sirius, who beached his three vessels at Camp Cove for many years because of their being potentially sold by the Provost Marshal.

An RML Mk V 9 inch 12 ton gun, brought out to Australia from England in 1872 and originally placed at the tip of South Head near Hornby Lighthouse. Moved to the South Head fortifications in 1901 as a training exercise for students at the School of Artillery, which at that time was located just behind it.
Made in the armaments factory established by Lord W.G. Armstrong in Newcastle, England.
