The Canongate Mercat Cross (aka 'Burgh Cross', 'Canno Cross', 'Cross Of Canongate', 'Market Cross'), now in Canongate Kirkyard. Originally it marked the location of the burgh market, and stood in the middle of the street (opposite the Council Chambers).
It was relocated in 1737 to the Tolbooth wall; again in 1888 to a site in front of the Canongate Kirk; and finally in 1953 to its current site beside the church.
