Ernest Macartney de Burgh

Ernest Macartney de Burgh (18 January 1863 – 3 April 1929) was a civil engineer who designed a number of superb bridges (all of them using the De Burgh timbertruss) and dams in New South Wales.

Opened in 1898, this is Australia's oldest (surviving) suspension bridge.
