Henry Deane Walsh (civil engineer, architect)

Henry Deane Walsh was both a civil engineer (he was a long-time Chief Engineer of the Sydney Harbour Trust) and architect. The area of 'Walsh Bay' is named in his honour, and his architectural prowess can be seen in buildings such as the Woolloomooloo Finger Wharf and the Palisade Hotel at Millers Point.

Finger Wharf (sometimes 'Woolloomooloo Wharf'), Woolloomooloo Bay. Designed by engineer Henry Walsh, constructed 1911-1915 by the Sydney Harbour Trust.

At 410m (1,345 ft) it's the longest timbered-piled wharf in the world.
