Ferry Lane, a narrow path down to the ferry wharf at Walsh Bay. Perhaps best known as the 'birthplace' of the Bubonic Plague which swept through this part of Sydney in 1900 (the first fatality was that of Arthur Payne, who lived at No. 10 at the bottom of the street).
The houses along the side of the lane were largely destroyed by 1908, when the Walsh Bay end of the lane disappeared in order to make way for Hickson Road. The remaining houses - including the two at the bottom - were demolished in 1914.
