Walter Liberty Vernon (1846–1914). An English architect who migrated to Sydney, Australia and ultimately became Government Architect. Many of his buildings survive, and are heritage listed.

Annandale Post Office. Although there had been a Post Office in Annandale since 1855 (the original was known as the Petersham Post Office), this particular building was designed by Walter Liberty Vernon and constructed 1905.
