Now part of the United Kingdom, England takes its name from the Angles, one of the Germanic tribes who settled during the 5th and 6th centuries. Up until 1284 it functioned as a Kingdom in its own right.

Admiralty Arch, providing road and pedestrian access between The Mall and Trafalgar Square.
Designed by Sir Aston Webb, constructed by John Mowlem & Co and completed in 1912. It adjoins the Old Admiralty Building, hence the name.
