Denbigh Castle, Denbighshire. Built in two phases - commencing 1282 (based on designs attributed to Master James of St George), and commencing 1295 (based on revised designs by Henry de Lacy).

Slighted (damaged so as to be beyond military use) shortly after the English Civil War (1642-1651); subsequently abandoned and allowed to decay.
