Anglesey, Wales
Menai Suspension Bridge (aka 'Menai Strait Bridge'), Anglesey. Designed by Thomas Telford and constructed 1819-1826 (partly by noted bridge designer and master mason David Lennox), it's the world's first modern suspension bridge.
The deck was strengthened (it was unstable in strong winds) in 1840 by WA Provis, and replaced with steel in 1893. In 1938 the chains were also replaced with steel (to increase weight capacity).
